Edge Community Apartments

Rezoning Greenpoint-Williamsburg Waterfront

Completed in 2010, Edge Community Apartments (ECA) was the first development phase of the company’s larger multi-phase Edge development project resulting from Greenpoint-Williamsburg Inclusionary Housing Program and rezoning of the Williamsburg waterfront. ECA provides moderate affordable housing and residents enjoy 35,000 square feet of public park space, an on-site water taxi service and a riverside esplanade which adjoins waterfront parks to the north and south. The company created these extraordinary public spaces in partnership with the Department of Parks and Recreation and participates in the Art in the Parks program housing Deborah Kass OY/YO sculpture. With the ferry landings down the street, residents also benefit from the project’s easy access to transportation to adjoining boroughs. The company worked closely with New York City Department of Housing and Preservation, New York City Housing Development Corporation as well as Hypo and Chase banks to finance ECA’s successful development.
