90 West Street

A Landmark Restoration

Levine Builders provided construction management services for the renovation of 90 West Street, a landmark building originally designed by renowned architect Cass Gilbert. Located one block from the former World Trade Center and badly damaged by fire and falling debris on September 11, 2001, this 23-story office building was converted into a 410-unit residential tower. The terra cotta and limestone exterior was restored to its original splendor; damaged portions of the 100-year old terra cotta were removed and replaced along with damaged limestone, granite and windows. The interior construction included the creation of apartments, a new lobby and new MEP systems and elevators to support a residential building. 90 West Street offers 154 studios, 220 one-bedroom, 31 two-bedroom and five three-bedroom rental apartments with ground level retail space and a lower level garage.
